Yesterday i was coming home from school after a dificult exam. I had a big weakend planned. I was going to Indi for the F1 race this weakend. It was 45mph and i had just crested a hill. I look to my right and then look back straight but it was too late. At the bottom of the hill there was a honda waiting to turn left. I got on the brakes but it was way too late. Short story short, theres one less, 240 namely mine, in the world today. Its beyond repair just by looking at it and it definitely wouldnt be worth it. the worst part is that i dont have full coverage so im hoofing it till i can afford another car. I want to sell it for parts but i have nowhere to store it because i live in an apartment complex. I will probably wind up selling it to a salvage yard. So if you guys need parts I live in stillwater oklahoma. Its a 92 s13. Motor was strong, transmition sucked but i had a lot of good times in that car. some of the best:(

I agree. Save your motor and everything. Buy a non running 89 and transfer everything over. That would be the cheapest way to do things.

Yea, the crash was pretty bad. The honda came out of it better than i did. My stupid seat belt across the chest didnt even catch so i hit the steering wheel and my chest still hurts like hell. Im not sure if it would be worth my time and money to sell it to a salvage yard or put in in storage and part it out. If i found a storage unit that would hold it then i would have to part it out in a month to make it worth my while at anywhere from 30-60$ a month. I told the salvage yards i wanted at least $300 for it to cover my towing and storage costs and my Unatentative driving ticket for $150. I will have to decide today because i cant leave it in storage at 16$ a day for the weakend while im at the F1 race.

Interiors decent. one crack in the dash. Drivers seat has a tear in it. Radiator is gone. Im sure the engine is salvagable but a 146k i would recomend a rebuild. I dont have a place to do seriouse mechanical work so pulling the engine is beyond me. It had a fresh starter, clutch, ignition system, radiator, top strut mounts. I had an injen intake but the cone is gone. The pipe and all the connections seamed to be in tact. I had a tower strut bar and a hyome exhauste (mufler). I can pull my MAF too.

Thanx for your support guys. it means a lot comming from my nico friends. Im wanting to get another car that will keep me in the loop but probably not a 240sx. I have my sights set on a datsun 240z. prob a 71-75 that has no rust and a straight body with at least a little paint on it . and of course a 5 speed. I cant find a single salvage yard that will purchase my car and no one will rent me storage to part it out to you guys over time and the fees for towing and storage will quickly add up to be more than its worth so im probably just going to let them put a lean on it. :( I wanted to remove some parts before i left it for good and the guy was beeing a real jerk. he said he had paying customers to wait on, instead of me, even though i pay a daily rate for storage on it. If somebdy wanted it for parts and could come get it for say $500 which would cover everthing i would step in but i doubt thats going to happen. :rolleyes

Well, that sucks a$$! Sorry to hear it man. But good look on the search for a good 240z. There getting more and more rare. Oh, and the 240z was only made through '73. 260's and 280's after that. And 240's didn't come stock with a five speed. You have to swap it out of a 280. But yeah, my 240z is deffinetley fun to drive. A little different feel than my 240sx. Very cold blooded. Can't just start it up and drive it. It has to warm up first. And make sure if you go the Z route. Check for battery corrosion underneath the battery tray and down onto the frame. Very common with the old Z's. I found this out the hard way. But it's all fixed now.

If you happen to get ahold of your 240sx for parting it out. Let us all know.

My bad. a 4 speed . I should have remembered that from the datsun 240-280 gold portfolio. Thank for the info. Im off to the race anyway so this weakend isnt a total loss. I will keep you guy informed if i can part it out. Id much rather a 240 lover finish it off than those bastards at the towing yard.
