So although the accident (if you would call it that) happened over a month ago, I only got around to taking down the bumper and really looking at the damage a couple days ago. For those who missed the previous thread, I was driving to work on the 405 south passing through Long Beach and a pick-up truck in front of me lost this huge box and I had no time to react so I hit whatever was in it and flying out of it. Initially, the damage was diagnosed as a couple broken needles on the side clips, my nissan logo being knocked off, my fog light fixture falling out, and a hole/scrapes on the right side of the bumper; all also leaving the bumper hanging low. Looks like this:
Anyways, a couple days ago I took the bumper down and found out what else came along with the damage :[ Turns out that on the right side the 2 side clips don't just have a few broken needles, the side clips are completely broken off. On the left side, one of the 2 side clips is broken. Also, I wasn't even aware there were 2 giant clips right underneath the headlights. On the right side, the whole clip was sitting inside the bottom of my bumper; however luckily the left clip was left intact. All in all, I've got ONLY a small bolt holding my bumper up on the right side >< Also, there's something I believe used to support the grill that on the left side was basically shattered:
Not gonna fix that though, it's way too much work lol.And last but not least... of course the entire bottom of my windshield wiper fluid tank is completely gone >< Bah.
Anyways... ordered all the new clips, I'll wait on the windshield fluid tank :[ BOO!!
Decided I'm gonna try to bondo, sand down, and touch-up paint the bumper until I can afford to get a new one. Wish me luck!
