I was excited to come across your software development co-op job for MDA in software development. With a major in computer engineering, I have had much experience programming in various languages for projects completely both individually and as part of a team. I will make a great contribution to MDA’s Richmond R&D team if I was given the opportunity to work as part of MDA. As a fifth year student at [Edited out] University, many courses I have taken will make me very qualified to work for MDA. I have worked on many software projects in various languages. Last term I successfully completed composing and optimized a video codec with extensive usage of MATLAB, where the same course consisted of many labs related to multimedia processing including sound files, images, and video clips all completed in MATLAB. Java and C++ was used in a course on data structures and programming where object-oriented programming was one of its focuses. I have also had experience with C in programming scheduling algorithm, and writing a “mini-shell” in a Linux environment. I am familiar with UNIX as I have used Solaris for a course for System on Chip, and am still using this operating system for a course on communication networks. An entire course on software engineering has also taught me the many phases of software design. In a related project coded in QNX, I completed a project on programming robotic arm movements to successfully move blocks onto a conveyor belt, at which a system of sensors can detect the block type.
