I remember seeing a post about clunks in the steering but cant find it now?Did anyone figure out just what it is for sure Rack, Strut Bearings or what not as mine just started this clunking when turning hard Left or Right and it sounds like springs to me not being set right??I have a 07 VERSA with 8500miles on it.

Most of the trips I take are to the store drop off and pick up the kids and about 4 trips to Vegas each year.

I have the same problem CLUNKING AND KNOCKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END (front suspension) OF THE VEHICLE AND I FELT IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. The noise was coming from passenger side. All these issues are acting when the vehicle is driving slowly and making right turn going up on the driveway or down on the driveway. I filled a complaint to Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), an office within the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If you have the same problem even without accident I'm going to recommend to file a complaint too.
Guys, I found the same complaint all over the different forums and it looks like this is a manufacture defect.
PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE FROM YOUR TIME AND FILL OUT THIS COMPLAINT FORM.

Had this problem on my '08 V. I would get 2 clunks at low speed turning right. I could reproduce it by driving slow and turning the wheel right 1 1/2 turns. It turned out to be the steering joint assembly. Nissan replaced it and it has been good for almost 2 years so far.

I had the same problem a few year back. First they replaced the upper steering column and it stops the clunking for a few months then it came back. They replaced the lower steering column and now the problem is gone. Hope it helps
