looking for a cheap yet effective security system - too many cars getting jacked so I'm getting wary - don't need/want a viper or expensive security system but how does the club sound? I searched but didn't come up w/ anything.

well if you have the club, it's a good deterrant for people actually trying to steal your car... it can still be removed by cutting your steering wheel or freezing it and breaking it off, but not too many theives will be that motivated to steal your car unless you got some serious **** done to it... but a club isn't gonna protect your stereo, and that's what really matters...

I'm not really worry about my stereo... it sucks... unless he wants my speakers, paid a total of $130 for all 4 speakers... I just want to know if any1h as them and how they feel about them - just want a cheap way to protect the actual car itself since I'm in college and I do park in decks/lots alot.

its ok for its detterent value, but worthless in the face of a pro.

actually, since i used to do repo's, i have a special tool that will break a club. takes about 30 seconds. just something to think about.

for it's price (under $10 on ebay) I'd say it's a good deal - I park in parking decks in college and will have a class that lasts til 9:30 at night, at which point the deck should be almost deserted, so I just want that extra sense of measure - it's a really nice campus so I don't think theft is a big worry but $10 just doesn't seem alot -

if you know what a gear puller or a steering whell puller looks like, its kinda like that.

theres two carbon steel hooks that hold both sides of the club on opposite ends of the lock. theres a pointed bolt in the center with very shallow pitched threads. you center the bolt on the keyway of the lock and start cranking the handle. it cracks the lock casing and sometimes breaks the silver shaft on one of the indents that engages the locking mechanism. works like a charm.

get the one that locks the brake pedal against the floorpan. much harder to defeat.

I know that if some1 really wants it, they probably can get it - but I just want a cheap way to maybe deter your average run of the mill car jacker

Go to autolock.com and see the best device short of electronics, this is a very reliable device...the brake lock ...forget about the steering wheel lock. Do not waste money on the Club.
