I'll start this thread, but please don't allow yourself to get caught up in only providing negatives about anyone. Absolutely no out of context garbage. If it's partisan and not backed up by some non-partisan reference, please don't even bring it up.

Let's see how much truth and how many positive things we can find about the potential first ladies.

Here's something on Cindy McCain. It has more positives than negatives and has some good things I honestly didn't know about her. It's changed her from a total negative to someone a lot more positive in my eyes.

I'm reluctant to even play in this one.

I don't think EITHER woman wants to be a Hillary and overshadow her husband's efforts, so I think either will be fine.

I perceive that they're both strong, tough women, and although I haven't met either of them, I have several friends who have met Ms. Mac and said she's a real joy to be around...

She has her "causes" to work on and can't be bothered by her husband's job duties. I respect that. I think she does some good things in the world.

I hadn't read the article before I posted.

Interesting facts, several I didn't know.

In that I find Ms. Bush to be a very classy lady, I'd like to thump Johnny Mac in his melon for the last line in that article... but he could probably still kick my a$$.

Michelle Obama graduated from Whitney Young High School in 1981 and went on to major in sociology and minor in African American studies at Princeton University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985.

At Princeton, she challenged the teaching methodology for French because she felt that it should be more conversational. As part of her requirements for graduation, she wrote a thesis entitled, "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community. She obtained her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1988. While at Harvard, she participated in political demonstrations advocating the hiring of professors who are minorities.

She met Barack Obama when they were the only two African Americans at their law firm and she was assigned to mentor him while he was a summer associate.

my perception of michelle obama is a strong independent woman, but one who thinks before she speaks.

i dont know enough about ms. mccain, but i think she needs to overcome the barbie married to grandpa image. its not very appealing, and prolly wont be changed until she starts speaking on her own behalf. ala hillary ala michelle

I dunno, I kinda think the wives should stay out of it unless the campaigning candidate makes it clear that she'll be "involved".

Hillary came busting in like she was an elected official - and wasn't.

I think they both do a good job of sticking to their own projects - which is a great opportunity and platform for them to effect change.

We're not electing a monarchy, so they're not terribly relevant.

It's still nice to know what we're getting as our First Lady. After all, she is going to be representing us to a degree at all the state dinners and trips where she accompanies her husband.

I feel like I could be very comfortable with either one as First Lady.

I've asked that myself along with why any guy would possibly complain to the authorities about it.
