:D

Latest dyno figures from a friend of mine in the UK... you might know the car (old Norris Design's S13) now owned by a friend of mine, Richie.

Simon from ND said the car should make 540rwhp back before Richie bought the car. Since then they made a few changes to make even more power. The car was never dyno tested until today.

511.5 bhp @7770rpm at the wheels388.3lb/ft @6124rpm at the wheels

613.8bhp @7770 rpm at the flywheel466lb/ft @6124rpm at the flywheel

Those are the numbers it punched out. Why so low you ask? Because it was running on the engine management's BASE MAP! For all of you guys that know anything about tuning that means this car EASILY has another 50whp if not more. They are switching to a Motec system and should have numbers out later on.

So there you go :)

That's just beautiful! I take it they didn't even hurt the engine.

More than likely not... it has been running for a while now and was running very rich with conservative timing curves.

You won't be the first person on NICO to want X amt of power and not obtain it for years.

Makes me want a CA even more. Problem is, they are old and most are ragged out. Would buy one and definately do a full rebuild on it, which means I would go ahead and build some of the bottom end up. $$$$$$$$$

Quote »any one got a chart? Boost boy? Never seen your charts.
Do a search or something! It's been a while since I've posted mine. I pulled 282.6whp/240.2 ft/lbs on 14psi of boost. If you really want to see them, email me and I'll be glad to give you an idea as to what's good and reliable power on a stock CA18DET.

Quote »hey dee, was that using the SDS?
Yeah, but I wasn't too familiar with it and it was only tuned to just make the car drive. I actually took the car to the dyno because everyone else was going and I didn't want to be the wimp. I expected to pull like maybe 230ish whp because the T3 flange that was welded to the stock manifold was seperating itself from the manifold causing a nasty exhaust leak and black soot everywhere, but instead ended up with 282whp in which we all thought was very impressive given the nature of the tuning and problems on the car. Ended up with 312.5 whp at 18psi in which was way more than anyone expected; at which time the CA gained it's respect in the hood. I could take my girl's car and go drop 400whp on that same internally stock engine that's been around the block a few times thanks to the SDS and my desire to learn and somewhat master the SDS computer system.
