Just read a article in a magazine and they asked people about the drag race last weekend and their ET´s.

A Nissan S13 CA guy says:

- I ran 12.42 and 110 mph. 60-foot at 1.9 sec.* Nice! Fully built engine?- Oh no, still stock block and head, just swapped some parts around.* Turbo and stuff?- Yeah, a 15T turbo from Volvo, 3" exhaust, 3" MAF, injectors and Stage 3 chip.* Any secrets how to launch? - I just drop it at 6000 rpm, MT 10.5" tires.

That´s pretty cool guys! Love fast budget cars!

I'm jealous of the English and Aussies! Drop @ 6,000 rpm?Don't know if I'd have the balls for that. Don't know how long the engine would last either not being built. Great #'s!!!! The factory CA18 5sp. runs high 14's correct?

Yeah, 14´s sounds right with a good launch.

It´s all about how much you love your car, this guys probably didn´t care that much and he could find a cheap gearbox or rear axle if it broke. But I always admire these budget cars, fast and cheap to build is a nice combo. And to be honest, this is the joy in street car drag races, see all crazy solutions just to be fast on small amount of $$$.

Talked to a Honda guy last year, he drove in thick winter gloves. I asked why?-I can full throttle shift without feeling the crappy gearbox. Haha, crazy...

Thats exactly why I went with the CA18. I'm not rich, so I'm not searching for 300+ horsepower. I'm using a T28/25 from a S14 and want to get around the 250 mark. Other than driving curvy roads on the weekend, my car gets me back & forth to work. But it does have the ability to put down larger #'s if I wanted in the future. It gives you the option. For the price, it cant' be beaten.
