So tomorrow I get my shop space to store my car. The first part of the build will be of fixing small things with the car to make it 100% again and refurbishing the chassis and interior.

Once it's in the shop, I'll be deleting the heater core, fixing the parking brake and new pads. Replacing the pass. side window motor, all bushings, short throw shifter, and the starting of the new interior and engine dress-up(at least everything that will carry over to the new engine).

I will be uploading pics and some tutorials, as well as asking many questions when I'm bound to become stumped.

it's pretty easy, z1 675rs turbos or jwt700bb turbos, nismo740cc fuel injectors, at least z1 intercoolers, 2.5'' exhaust at least, msp manifolds, ebc, custom tune and that's it (power-wise), clutch, flywheel, etc. are up to you.

Yeah I knew it was pretty standard to get to 500whp, just wanted to see if that's more or less what Nismovs had in mind lol

He has it fairly close. Going with garrett turbos, still have to talk with them for the best option. Nismo 740cc, ash spec massives and the upgraded piping with tb's, dual selin, msp mans, avrc-r, safcII, water/meth dual injection, haltec ecu all with a IPP stage 5 block, fully rebuilt N/A transmission(possibly a 98+jdm if I can find one) That's pretty much it to get the power with a lot of gauges so I know whats going on in there. Now getting it to the ground is the other fun part lol. I know I'm over building but that's just my natural instinct. rather have room to move up and have a large safety margin than be on the edge of reliability

I've talked with them on that subject a couple times now. I'm just not willing to spend that much just to essentially get better synchros lol.

Yeah I hear ya on that one! People charge way too much money when it comes to transmissions, especially for rebuilds

And the new 98+ fail often as well. Input bearings howling after 5k miles.

I have not heard that about them. I still have to make a trip to my local trans shop to see how much a new synchro kit would be so I can possibly do it myself.

Also, just got back from nissan and was wondering if anyone knows if the lhd, driver side cowling piece changes at all from a 90 to a 91+? there computer shows a part# change and they are unsure as well. Any help is very appreciated

Just don't want to spend the money on a non-returnable part and not have it fit

Alright guys, time to do a little update. Pictures will be put up once I upload them to PB.

Things have been moving along smoothly, if slowly, which I am very happy about. I dropped the steering rack and replaced the bushings with a poly set. The driver side bushing was actually chewed to bits, one collar was missing completely. I have the entire front end ripped apart to swap bumbers and put my second crash bar on cause it's cleaner.

I also dropped the exhaust from the car in prep to pull the sub-frame, but I might hold off on that until next season. As for the interior, It's gone, all that's left in it is the two rear panels beside the rear seat. The dash and dash bar are removed and the HVAC unit is ready to come out to replace the heater core with my second unit.

The past couple days I've just been going through all my spare parts and deciding what I'm going to sell because I have a full second interior for a 2+2 minus the seats. Two hatches, steering wheel + column. and a bunch of random bits and pieces of the other car.

My big wish Item right now though is the pigtail that goes to the Turn stalk, mine is chewed up and broken and I believe it's part of why my headlights only have hi-beam.

And because I want to try and put info back into the Z community since you have helped me so much, I'm very willing to take specific pictures for people that have yet to tear into their car to the extent that I have, so any info or step-by-steps you may need, just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

since you have your dash completely apart, would you mind taking pics of the dash grounds? my dash lights turn off after i turn my headlights on and I've replaced everything else to do with the headlights/dimmer switch and i have no idea where the grounds are. If it's not too much to ask :naughty:

I can take some pics of that for you. Are you having to replace fuses when they go out?

Why are you considering a na transmission? Is it better in any way?

I would get a TT trans housing if I found one for a good price. The only difference between the two is that the TT bell housing is machined larger on the inside for a larger diameter flywheel which puts the starter in a slightly different spot.

I've actually been looking into PPG gear sets to eliminate the weak synchro's the z32 has, but I haven't decided if the 5K price tag is worth it in the end.
