well, if anyone remembers i had recently bought another 240 in the beginning of november:

since the day after thanksgiving (friday), i've had public safety up my as* for 2 unregistered vehicles in my driveway ( my 1st 240 the 89, and the new one 1990). So they left warning notices friday and saturday, i didnt ignore them but i work almost all day everyday besides sunday until sometimes 9:00 at night so i really dont have the time to get car covers or remove my backyard fence to shove the cars back there. SOOO its sunday now and its 12:00PM and im sleeping, public safety comes and wakes me up and tells me i got 15 minutes to remove the fence and put the cars in the back yard, i look at the fence real quick and tell them theres no way i can do that in 15 minutes, so just give me a ticket or w/e. After this they take down the VIN's on both the cars and looked them up, my new one actually came up as stolen. 15 minutes later i have about 5 or 6 cop cars in front of my house and 2 public safety cars. Turns out the previous owner of my new 240 actually stole it from someone, i never paid him because i wanted to give the car back because of the horrible rust it had come with so i never even saw the title. so the cops impound it and im stuck here with around $700 worth of items gone to that kid i got the car from claiming he doesnt have the parts any more. do you think now would be a good time to go to small claims court? I could have gotten arrested and charged with theft and could have had to face time in jail with this being my 4th charge.

SO, the question is: Should i bring the previous owner to court or not? This seems to be the only way to get my items i traded for the car back.

Thanks for wasting your time reading this paragraph of stupidity, but i do appreciate it.

damn bro, youve got a mess on your hands, seriously....im glad i dont have to deal with public safety crapola...so, i would do everything in my power to get that kid who stiffed you and tried to pass of teh stolen ****, though recieving is still a possible charge for you, and you traded 700 bucks in parts for that car? and didnt notice teh rust or somthing? c'mon guy, bad move in the first place. anyway all that aside. try and work with the policeand heck maybe theyll help you out for once, file whatever you need to file, talk to a lawyer, talk to a cop and see what you can press...do whatever you need to do to turn it back on that kid and get money or parts back, cuz your probably going to need it. never take a car without title dude, never. that just sux. i hope things go yoru way man.

i feel like beating the shi* out of that kid. I'm more grateful that i didnt get arrested and the cops believed my story, i told them the absolute truth. The car was reported stolen in the beginning of September and i got it in november. i think thats what saved my as*

wow that sucks that they can impound ur sh*t when its on your own property... i didnt think they could say anything if it wasnt on public property? IE the street

but not noticing rust and "trading parts" for a car you never signed the title for is asking for trouble

the guy you got the car from is the guy who stole it?

if you dont have proof of that sale from that guy, it kinda looks like you stole the car (to the cops)

there is proof (handwritten bill of sale) and witnesses (my girlfriend and two of my friends). i dont have to go to court for this or anything and i know it does seem like i stole it lol. i gave the cops the kids phone number because thats the only information i know of him and his first name. i know where he lives too but just not the house # or the street name. im thinking i'll be fine, im hoping i will be too.
