My HID kit came with a relay kit allowing it to 1) Get power directly from the battery, and 2) Use only one of the OEM bulb harnesses, i.e the drivers side, thus resulting in no "auto" problems what so ever. The passenger side bulb connector is taped up and tucked away. Hope that helps!

cool

another question

sine the altima with the premium package already comes with HIDs i figured that i'd just need to buy replacement 6000k bulbs

so doesn't already have a relay kit?

and if i do need one should i get 2?

1 for the low beams and 1 for the fog lights?

thanks

oh and also

whats the difference between sinlge beam and dual beam

which one should i get...is the dual beam HIDs better than the single beams?

Bought mine from http://www.3Bspec.com. Found them on forums.maxima.org. Got 8000k for $130 shipped (overnight shipping included). They came with a relay and everything needed. I have a base 2.5 S coupe (no auto on headlights) so I just installed them w/ out the relay since its just one less failure point (plug and play). Have had no problems at all and they look great.

I have the McCulloch 6000K HID Kit. I paid about $230 which is alot compared to most, but I have had it in about 6 months and not one problem. Completely Plug and play. I used the Auto-On about 50% of the time. I am now trying to figure out what I want to do about the Fog lights.

That's where I got mine too, I had been a member there for a few years. I actually dealt with them in person since they're based in Houston - awesome service and they back up their stuff 100%. If you already have factory HID's, then yes, you only need to change the bulbs to what ever color you want - no harness necessary. If you want to put HID's in your factory fogs, you can also use a harness, or you can go with the cheaper plug-and-play route, since there shouldn't be an "auto" problem with the fogs. Also the difference between single xenon and bi-xenon is simple - single has 1 filament, and bi has two You don't need need the bi-xenon bulbs as it's for headlights that incorporate the low and high beams into one bulb - the Altima has a separate bulb for each.

Do you guys back 3BSpec completely? My question is, will the 6000k output with my McCulloch Kit be the same 6000k color output as another brand? How come no one has gone with 3000k HID Fogs?

If I get what you're asking, the odds of the color of a McCulloch 6000K bulb and one of 3Bspec's 6000K bulbs matching are pretty slim simply because they're different companies. The 6000K guideline is more like a reference point - 6000K being crystal white with a hint of blue, 8000K being slightly blue etc. It's not really an industry standard, but rather just a reference to what the color should look like when the bulbs are made. As far as light output, it'll be pretty much the same. I've seen a few people here and on Maxima.org that have 3000K fogs; some people on the maxima forums went with the "Custom color yellow" 3000K since it's a much more rich looking yellow than 3000K alone.

My bad, I should have put "Custom color: yellow"

If you scroll down you can see it there. You can also see the difference between a regular 3000K bulb and the yellow 3000K.
