Just wondering what HID kit I should buy for my Black Altima Coupe 2.5s, since I couldn't get the HID's on my 2.5 from the factory (only available on the 3.5 v6, )...I know this isn't a big mod but I'd still like any help or suggestions...I don't wanna buy and install a cheap HID kit off of eBay and have it screw up my wiring , like burn it out or something. Also what are the legal color temperatures for the states or are there different laws for each state, the only temps I know of are: 3000K, 5000K, 8000K, 10000K, 12000K, and 30000K...I'm banking on the 10000K since it has more of a deep blue then the 8000K, to go with my black car. I wish they had like deep red hids, that would set it off with the black paint...I see a lot of people have Xentec kits installed but I just wanted to see what people thought...Another thing I wondered is if you install these kits do you lose your high beams and if so is that a good thing...any help is appreciated, thanks

i'm guessing Ohio may not care what color temp you put on. But states like Cali you can (not will) get in trouble for 6000+ as they have that blue tint and then even goes purple. Also, the higher the temp, the less light output so keep that in mind. Low beam and High beams are different bulbs so you will keep stock high beams. You're just replacing 2 single low beam bulbs.......search around some more and u'll see reviews on Xlight, Xentec, Mcculloch .....etc

the only thing cheap about the Xentecs are the price....theyve been great for me, and many others, so far

honestly the aftermarket HID are all the same, they're made by a few companies and rebranded to a lot of "brands" but i think you should find one with a warranty

Go with 10000k and you're gonna risk getting pulled over every night. Blue = illegal.

How much of a light output decrease do you get going from 6000 to 10000? Is it pretty noticeable?

yes...the light output after you move above 6000k is noticeably decreased....if youre looking for the most light output i would either go with 4300k or 5000k

looks wise the 4300k are going to give you a hint of yellow and the 5000k are going to give you the pure white with a hint of blue look.

you have to ask yourself what you want, because you cant have the deep blue look along with good light output. you can either have one or the other.....personally i love the way my 5000k fogs and lows look
