I agree totally wit you rex..

The boston acoustic z series is up there as well as any of the mb quarts..the q line rockz.. You can go wrong with these..

I like the l00k of the diamond s600's never heard them though..

Anyone know what components will give the best mids?

Well there are many many different component systems that are extremely nice. I believe that, of the high priced systems, you cannot get a "bad set". You can, however, get a set that does not meet your sound preference.

For instance... Mb Quart makes some beautiful sounding components. They have won countless awards and competitions for years. I have heard them in many cars and I still do not prefer them to a softer and coincidentally less expensive component system such as the old school Diamond HEX with the soft dome tweeters. I like warm and crisp highs, but not a sound that is "in your face".

The most transparent soundstage that I have ever heard had Morel Elate 5 1/4 mids and their extravagant Supremo tweeters. When I go to buy a new set, I will buy Morels because they suit my taste in sound.

Oh... and I really like the way the Boston Pro Series sounds too.

As for what I have right now... Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1... I wish I would of bought the JL Audio components. They are very nice for the price!!

Personally I’m running coaxial Infinity KAPPA 63.5i, and they sound crisp clear natural and loud. Quality is amazing, and the valve is unbeatable. They sound so much better then the alpine signature Type R components.I’m also running Infinity Kappa Subs, they are to die for.

So…IMO…Kappa Perfect Components

What about the jl audio's can you catch some crisp high's or will you get mostly the bass they are prominent for??

I am personally spending $600 in total for the doors.. This includes dampening material and the few materials used to construct a 6 1/2" mount for my 90 240sx fb.. Any ideas guys.. Whuts good for the $500 area?

Yeah pretty much, they make some darn good subs, and some really nice amps…but by god they need to stay away from speakers...
