In reality I don't really care. I am also at work and wouldn't have the time or nerve to......

I believe you. I have no reason not to. Sorry your story didn't change my life like it did yours. Anywho, good day sir.

Sounds like way too much work and drama for a $2200 car... I'm not meaning to hate, just had to say it.

Congrats on getting your car back, and welcome to NICO.

Damn, only $2200? Haha. Congratulations in the end though.

I thought your car needed to actually be registered in the county that doesn't check for emissions? Not just driving there and having it done. Huh, interesting.

Can't be mad atcha for that. I just offered the story, as the title says, for those folks who needed a boost like this one. But being passive aggressive is for chumps, and that's a lesson even such great scholars as G.I.Joe told us. Like the great theorists of Joe said...

"Now you know, and knowing...... is half the battle"

Didnt think I'd have had anything to worry about. I mean, not that I worried that kinda s***fest would have happened, but, I figured if she tried anything I could just prove I paid for it and the car was for me. Do you go to the grocery store expecting to get jumped by a pack of rabid squirrels posing in a man-suit?

Me neither. But hey, I guess it helps to know this kinda s***.

And it's 'ridiculous'. There isn't an 'e' in 'ridiculous'. That would be absolute redickulissness.

Not taken as hating at all, you've got a good point. With a wife, house, and kid now I'm not sure in the least bit I would have gone through that for 2,200 dollars.

But then, every time I go to my garage and look at my beautiful 2,200 dollar paperweight, I'm reassurred that I made the right moves. I mean, wouldn't you stand up and defy big-tittied sock-chewing b****es who stood in the way of something YOU wanted?

lol Even now- f*** that- especially now, 2,200 is nothing to scoff at! Thanks for the congrats, I appreciate it heh.

Perhaps this is a rule, but try heading out there if your'e in the DFW area. Even just a hop up north in Sherman I hear they don't check. Plus, it's considerably cheaper (aside from the 2hr drive and gas to get out there, plus travelling essentials like hookers, crack cocaine and lessons in the Middle-Eastern fighting arts).

For me it's an easy choice: Either come up with the cash to swap the engine (and do it RIGHT)orNot pour too much cash into the car and hobble her along until i CAN afford to swap out the engine; thus being unable to pass an emissions test out here until I do.

As for right now, my KA24DWFS (Dont Work For s***) will be setting in my garage until I can swap the engine out. Unless someone knows what an erratic idle that stalls and dies is...?

That's where I take mine too. Man, I live one block north and three block west from that inspection place. You should go to wed night meet on Coit and Park. NE corner @ 8PM.

A buddy of mine who lives in Irving dropped by Texacana to get an inspection on his way to New York, but he couldn't do it. They said they can't do because he lives in different county.
Coit and Park, that's where JJ Cafe and Burger King are right? and Dunkin Donuts? I'll head out and take a look, I've got a couple of friends who I think somewhat reguarly show up (Jose Caraco RX8 and Darryl Knight 240sxSR20det) to a meet over there.

My liscense still shows me living in Longview, which could be why I get away with it with no problem. However, I do have friends who also get theirs done in Longview with no problem... maybe country bumpkins just don't care.

How old are ya? Did you go to school in Plano? I live right around the corner, Coit and Legacy.

That my friend was a descent bit of writing and quite refreshing to see on this forum. I enjoyed reading your story, and got a good feeling for your character. I believe there is a take away from this story, and one we all need to be cognizant of we go through life, and that is simply, you got to pay if you want to play. You had to pay in more ways than one, and felt the scorn of a woman. This can happen over and over on different levels if you don't watch yourself. The whole world economy is upside down cause we didn't read the fine print or anticipate the danger of playing without paying...

Good luck with your S13... and thanks again for your amusing story.

An erratic idle that stalls and dies? First things first. Run a self diagnostic and retrieve any codes. Use NICO to find what the codes (if any) mean. Besides that I would check my intake air control valve (IACV), EGR and your mass air flow sensor (MAFS)..maybe. There are plenty of threads on here dealing with weird idle problems but if you read the FSM (also posted on NICO as a PDF) there is a huge section on troubleshooting a rough idle.

FSM's:zerothread?id=311075

"Idle Stall" search returns:zerosearch

Always willing to help a well written post.

That post seriously made me smile man. Thanks for that, and you're dead right: pay to play. In all honesty, I woulda been pissed as hell had it happened to me, and I can't really blame her for her reaction. It just boiled down to who's got bigger teeth in the war over the dog biscuit? LOL!But seriously, well said, Kaleo. I hope to see more posts from you soon.(Badf***ingass car, btw.)

I just called and told her and she was happy as hell to hear from you; said you guys used to play CounterStrike with a group of good friends. We'll be getting internet at the house soon, so I suspect that will continue lol.I also got on and played when I'd come over and chill with her and her gf at the time, so I might have met you before too. She's going to try to go to a friend's house and get online to say hi in a bit, so stay tuned!
