Well I'm filipino as well and I have eaten that before when I was REALLY young in the Philippines. I remember the guy walking down the street selling that stuff and kids coming up to him like he was the ice cream man. Balut is mainly a duck egg and very seldom a chicken egg. Now I haven't eaten that crap for over 30 yrs now but I do remember the egg white was hard as hell. None the less, a majority of filipino foods aren't that gross but some are but the ones that aren't are very tasty
