seems to evade me. There is a knob labeled fade/balance pull but I can only seem to get it to do the fade. When I pull on it the knob comes off in my hand. Can anyone say how the balance was designed to be adjusted?

Thanks, Drake

My Maxima had the same issue: knob grip came loose. Just pull the metal shaft beneath the cover.

Also, does that radio have a retracting fader knob like other Nissan radios from the era? Most Nissan headunits, you have to push in on the fader/bass/trebble/etc. knobs to get them to extend so you can use them...they can't be pulled to switch modes while retracted.
