Backstory. Back when I was teenager I would stay up to watch headbangers ball on Mtv. If you were ever wondering just how old I am, yes, they were actually still playing music on Mtv!

I'm a metalhead and one of the more ubiquitous tools of the heavy metal frontman was the B.C. Rich Warlock. Kerry King from Slayer, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars from Motley Crue, Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. and Lita Ford (added only for T&A purposes, not a big fan of her music) were playing them.

The Warlock was and pretty much still is my favorite guitar shape. I always wanted one, but never really took the time to try to learn guitar. Maybe it's a midlife crisis, maybe it's a brain tumor, maybe it's just me being my terminally impulsive self, but last week I decided I was going to buy one.

I picked the most basic model that experienced guitarists would find at the least unable to meet their needs, at worst a personal affront to their sensibilities. For a newb like me, it's perfect. It's the style and color I want. It's of decent enough quality that if it sounds bad it ain't the guitar, it's me. Amazon, deliver unto me my guitar!

A guitar needs a good case to protect it. What, shaped like a coffin you say? Add to cart! :dblthumb:

I picked a nice little Marshall amp for the make the noisy part. Plenty powerful enough to piss my neighbors off.

I already had the distortion pedal and it sounds awesome!

Those f*** at the post office must have chucked the boxes across the sorting room. :squint:

The amp looks unscathed, but unfortunately my brand new guitar has a huge chip taken out of it.

Strangely, after holding it, it was love and first sight and I couldn't bring myself to return it. I'll keep it chip and all and Amazon gave me a sorry bout that coupon for the asking. It doesn't have the widow head stock that I like, but the inline setup is attractive and practical, no worries.

Ah yes, "crafted in China." I detest the Chinese, but I must admit, for two bills they build a pretty nice axe.
Image

Bolt on neck. that might bother a good guitarist. I'm not one of those; works for me.
Image

Alright, I'll quit teasing you. Yes, I am dragging it out on purpose to be a d!ck. :chuckle:
Image

I really dig the through the body strings. I've never seen that before, but much like bewbies, once I saw them I liked em!

The case is diamond tuck lined in blood red velvet with enough storage for cables and stuff.

Sleepy time. No time to mess with you tonight. I got homework to do. :frown:

Very nice. My brother used to play some guitar and he would piss me right the hell off with his newbness and floor shaking metal power chords. Then he got good at it and it was Pantera, Slayer, and Metallica all day every day.

Nice lookin stick, man. And I dig the case, totally.

That is the first Warlock I have ever seen that had the strings go through the body. Every single one I have ever laid eyes on or even played all had Floyds on them. Still, damn fine guitar for a couple of bones.

Nice axe! Didn't know you played. I've been playing for years. I have a few old Strats, a nice Jazz bass and a custom built guitar that absolutely smokes.

My custom built Roberts guitar.

Ahahahh! Unfortunately, I too was dawned with big hair in my younger days. Pops played guitar since his was 12, loved those bands that everyone hated in the 70s/80s. And it pushed over to me and my successors will also get ravenged with big hair bands. Nice guitar. I think I have a old gibson mated with a Memphis neck, that could be worth some money, but I will hang onto it for years to come.

I love the Warlock, and B.C. rich guitars, but I also enjoy harder metal, and most of the time rely on a ESP guitars.

But screw all that, lets bring Big Hair back.

I am curious as to why you like through the body strings so much? Not being able to get that resonance out would bother the piss out of me.

It's easthetically pleasing and I'm nowhere near the point I would notice any affect on the sound and thus be offended. I play poorly and loudly. If down the road I notice an unacceptable consequence of the design I will move to something else.

I'm building one of these. I wanna paint it a midnight purple with black on the sides, but yours makes me want to go just a straight solid color. I'm throwing a DiMarzio D-ActivatorX in the bridge and a Super2 in the neck. I can't wait to finish it.
