just thought id let everybody in on my little story. I did a 96(s14) ka24de swap in to my 92(s13). i did this swap by myself with minimum tools and lots of beer.let me start by saying this swap is covered by a million people who dont know how to post real answers. the motor was pulled and replaced in no time everything bolted up fine with a little mix matching of parts, there was times when it came down to starting it when i wasn't getting spark, the timing was off, and i wasn't getting fuel. first it wouldn't engage the starter because my clutch needed to bleed and get pressure, then i wasn't getting spark, switched relays from something i wasn't using any longer and there was the spark, then the real pain in my a** was the fuel pump not priming. now i checked everything on this damn fuel pump, every ground, the ecu , bench tested the fuel pump and it was fine, etc, etc. it all came down to the (green) relays ( ign. coil, and the EGI) all i did was use a piece of speaker wire to test if it was the problem. all im saying is if your doing this swap use the s13 wiring harness, ecu, header, ( they say intake mani but i used the s14 and its just fine), and the distributer. everything else can be answered by the FSM( factory service manual) it took me months of counting on b****es to answer my posts until i figured it out on my own.

i have noticed that on this forum (as well as others) that its hard to get anyone to give you any information without trying to flame you and make themselves feel superior, most people wont even post in the forums because of this wich is bad for the whole community, these forums are supposed to be about sharing knowledge and helping your neighbor.

that said congrats on your swap man, and thanks for the info.

anytime you take one motor out and swap in a new one its considered a swap. also the fact that its a different gen motor also tends to lead you towards "swap" terminology.

this is exactly what i meant in my previous post.
