My shop has a really cool amp. We call it the widow maker. Because it is cool. It is a Memphis 2400 wattamp I do believe. 2 channel. I think we will sell if for about 400 ballpark. It retails for over a thousand. It is used. And has a couple of scratches. But that is it. It works awsome. The reason why it is called the widow maker is because it has blown 5 yes count them 5 memphis 15 inch subwoofers. The owners son had this amp. It roasted a vioce coal. The sub is so freakin crunchy now. It put a hole in another one that I can put my hand through. Another one has no rubber sorround. Yes it is the widow maker. Post a reply and if there is enough interest I will talk to my boss about putting it up for sale on our website. http://www.installer.com If your in houston the shop is River Oaks Car Stereo.

The 2400 Watts is RMS at 2 ohms. And no the amp is not sending abad signal. The subs that he blew were not ment for that amp. The subs couldn't handle that power. He was being stupid. Its just funny because we call it the widow maker. We tested the amp and its fine. Just a couple of scraches.

I'm interested in finding out more about these amps. I'm just now hearing about Memphis. How do they stack up to MMATS?

I think the mother of all amps is the "Drag Queen" by Harrisons Labs. Claims to put out 20000 watts in 1/4 ohm or 1 ohm(I forgot). I think this amp is illegal for competition use.

Sounds like a Memphis Mojo, if its 2400 watts rms. There are several other amps that put out just as much. Still a good amp. The mother of all amps will most likely be the new JBL/Crown amp that pushes 6000 watts rms.

i am partial to 2 wonderful powerhouses from Soundstream. The Davinci, probably the best multi-channel amplifier built for car stereo (named Best of the Best at CES), and The Tarantula, 2000 watts RMS. Both of these amps look, sound, and were built to be extraordinary. Magnifico! That JBL/Crown amp should be a BEAST! But at what.... $7,000 or something... it should cook you breakfast too.
