The former is debatable, and the latter is simply not true. As I said above: the Genesis is absolutely NOT a performance car. It's quick, but EVERYTHING is quick these days. It's a cushy-riding luxury car that will eat the BMW's dust in any spirited driving conditions. It doesn't corner like a performance car, it doesn't control body movements like a performance car, and it doesn't react like a performance car. From impressions I've heard, it also doesn't communicate like a performance car. Reviews I've read show that it does post excellent roadholding numbers. However, it fails to translate those into actual good handling. If you want to go straight or drive in a circle really fast, the Genesis is your car. Otherwise, it takes a distant second to the BMW at best.
The Genesis is a Lexus-killer, not a BMW-challenger.
I'm not even sure why people keep mentioning the Genesis. If the Genesis has a BMW "equivalent" it's the 5, not the 7.
