Nice find Bobby - We expected the 5.0 and the 7AT, but I was guessing it would debut in the replacement for the Q45.

The FX50 is going to be a wicked machine.

only 390 hp? seems like 5.0 could make 420-450 hp?

Infiniti is getting 306 hp out of the 3.5 six and 330 hp out of the 3.7 six.

I'm looking at the logic here. Infiniti will have done the basic engineering to put the 5.0 in the G. Infinifi needs a car to close the Gap between the G37 and the GT R. A 425HP G50 would be a luxury/performance car that the enthusiast would (hopefully) get with a 6MT. It would offer a performance option for someone who didn't want the trouble that owning a GT R will bring (special service, etc.)

I'm seeing a lot of writing on the wall here. My prediction, by 2010 we'll see a G50xS Coupe and Sedan - 6MT & 7AT.

I didn't miss the reference to an enhanced V6 either. 3.7? 3.8? 20-25 HP?The future is going to be interesting.

I think you're right on target - There needed to be a flagship, as well as a MB / M-class fighter.

This is gonna be good.

This is outstanding! Other than the ricers out there, I am noticing a great deal of people with Nissans and Infinitis, going fast. Infiniti is making these cars too exciting to drive, and thus, prone to overspeeding. God help us ont he roads when these cars hit the streets. 390 horses is not for the faint-hearted---this is muscles on metal.

Yes, the handwriting is on the wall. Infiniti probably has a car that will close the gap between the GTR and the G-37. This is sound logic. Afterall, Lexus already has their IS-F, and Infinit, is sure to respond. Infiniti/Nissan is becoming the equivalent of the German performance car company.

BTW, the CVT in the Nissan Altima Automatic, is so much fun to drive than the manual transmission Altima. I can't imagine not going fast in the automatic version of the Nissan Altima.

A more logical car is the M50 and price it to compete with the 5 series BMW.

Still I hope Infiniti gives it at least 400 hp, 420-430hp would be ideal!

I think the lower HP numbers are a compromise, not only a marketing one.

That beast is probably going to be pushing 5500 lbs. TQ is more important in moving it than a high revving engine.
