Okay I'm still dead set on a S13 fastback.. and now I've put together a parts list that totals up to 10,000 dollars, which is about what I want to spend in the first year on my project.

Since most of you already have alot of crap done to your 240, I want to know if you have any opinions on the parts I'm about to list below, and if you do have them, see if you have any pros or cons about the parts after you installed them.

Car: 1989-1993 S13 FastbackSR20DET (will remain stock for now)Greddy Boost Controller, Greddy Type S BOV, JSPEC stg 2 clutch, AFC2, APexi N1 catback, High Flow Cat (want to keep legal, don't want a testpipe) Walboro 255lr fuel pump, b&m short shifter, boost gauge and oil pressure gauge, tein basic suspension (i have them on my sentra and I love them.. great entry level part), cusco front strut tower bar and rear strut tower bar, tanabe front sway bar and rear sway bar, HKS turbo timer, ngk plugs, and a new paint job. If anyone reads a drift tengoku mag there's a great page in the middle from Msports, and I want their body kit... and of course the nismo tail lights. I need to find the greddy SR20DET intercooler kit as well as the intake pipe... which I think is called the intake pipe or the cold pipe.. but other than that, this is what I have so far...

you say you want a cat to keep it legal. even tho as soon as you switch to a SR20 you automatically become illegal. i say just get a test pipe. and save money in the process.

wow, that is a nice list . . . and a lot that will be done in a year. Do you plan on doing that all at once or throughout the year? And will it be your daily driver?

One reason why they are illegal here is because they dont meet our emissions standards.

make sure to do the body and interior before you get into the engine, it'll be the thing you sink money into more than anything.

no the only reason why they are illegal here because they werent offered with turbos here..

the sr20de is a 50 state legal motor will pass visual and smog, but the sr20det on the other hand wont and is not legal. although if greddy makes a legal turbo kit for the usdm sr20de's we could get away with getting silvia q's or j's swaps then put in turbo later... but why when we can get turbo kits for the ka24de and make more power with less boost ???

and yes they will pass our emissions and yes they meet or exced our standerds.. in japan the cars have to be more fuel effecient and that leads to less emissions... another reason why there motors arnt really legal here, because big brother oil company doesnt want highly fuel efficient motors in the states.. all that bull**** about hybreds being the future ? i saw documentery on discovery once where they made a 2 piston motor that produced 100 hp and got 100 mpg... but they couldnt make it a legal car because big brother oil

10 grand if you are lucky - basing that on nothing going wrong. I just finished the initial engine portion of my project and with a little interior and wheels I am running about 7 grand - still needing some gauges - boost controller - silvia conversion - paint - body - and short shifter. I am just hoping I can finish it for another 6 grand. I would add at least 25% more to your project costs.

My 7 g's also includes the car itself - at a whopping $600 hee hee.
