I saw that for my Core class... we had quite the lengthy discussion on it as well!

Especially the part about the good wife knowing her place.

I have a hard time believing this was taken seriously at some point in time.. I guess I'd have to have been there.

My mom grew up in a small town at around that time, you should hear her talk about her childhood. It's like an episode of Leave It To Beaver but without the jokes. I think in a lot of places, it really was like that.

Man... our grandfathers had it so easy. And to think, the only price they had to pay was to have bullets lobbed at them by Germans and Japanese! And who cares that they slaved away for 30 years in the same job, only to have their pension stripped away because there was not legislation in place to prevent companies from denying them their retirement. Boy.. times sure have changed.

Sorta makes us look like a bunch of whiney ungrateful punks.
