I'm sure everyone remembers the old Q/J/M oil filters (15208-60U00). We just received 60 in & I have another 120 on the way but I have no idea how much longer they will be available. I called the factory & they said that they must have found an old batch & they were sure that they will soon be back to the 55Y00 filter. Hurry, I don't know how long I'll be able to get them!-Joe

These shouldn't have a shelf life. You should be fine as long as they are stored in a cool dry place.

I believe there is more filter media, the center "cage" has more holes (and are smaller) and there's an extra seal at the top. This is all just working off of memory from the side x side cutaway ones at T3.

The 60U00 was designed to be a better filter for the 300Z and Q (and maybe J?).

Sort of ticks me off that they don't care about the older cars anymore... I called today to order 60 (a good 10 year supply plus some for the truck) but they were all gone. Don't know what I'll do when my current remaining stash of 7 runs out, maybe Mobil 1?

There has been a suggestion to the powers that be which may result in the M1 being available at less than Autozone prices. It would be especially good for the VH41DE which has always had a thimble sized filter.

I'm pleased with my M1 filter. Finally, after moving to St Louis, I can actually purchase one -locally-. (There's no Autozone in Spokane WA).

It will. I suggest any one else who has the first or second generation Q45 (G50 or FY33) with the VH45DE or VH41DE post on this thread to petition for these filters to be available to us at less than full retail.

What do F50 and Y34 and FX45 use on the VK45DE? Perhaps some of them might be interested aslo.

The M1 filters are of superior construction and perform at the highest level whenever tested.

how does the -9e000 filter fit into this mix? that is what infiniti put on the 97 [remember, i've only had the car 1 month, and just had them do the oil when i did my pre-buy consult check]. i can see that the 9e000 is smaller than the 55y00 [daughters' altima], but have no reference on the 60u00. was 60u00 original on mine, too?

you wanna talk thimble sized, how 'bout the 65f00 oem on the g35....

The 60U00 and 55Y00 were the same physical size... the only difference was color and internal construction. I believe the 97+ Q have always used a different filter than the older 60U00 or 55Y00.

THe box of 21 filters showed up at my door yesterday! what a beautiful sight! the wife grilled me on the need to have 21 filters on hand, and cant understand the excitement of mine in what a great "find" these filters were! oh well,I dont understand the "junk" she comes home with after going to a friends Pampered Chef party either! I told her at least the filters will all be used, unlike all those kitchen gadgets that never get taken out of their boxes!I am thinking about making a 15208-60u00 pyramid on the shelf to display the goods!
