That ticking sound from my cat.????

After my car has been running for a while and I turn the car off I hear a ticking sound coming form my cat. The longer the period of time i drive the car, the more frequent the ticking sound happens. Its always made this sound but after I installed my exhaust the amount of ticking seemed to decrease.

Is this ticking a sigh of a flow problem in my cat.? The car only has 57K and I always thought cat. were good for around 100k. I was planning on going with a hiflow cat. anyways, but if it is a flow problem I'll be doing it sooner.

it might be the heat sheild coliling down, i have no cat on my car, and after i drive it hard and then park it the ticking sounds like it is a 2 ton clock or something.i have considered removing it but with it being summer and my being in the south i decided to leave it on.

Should just be the metal contracting an cooling normal of all cars. If its really loud then check all the bolt connections to see if they are TIGHT.
