I put my car away in mid November: I washed/waxed her, put her in the garage, put her in jackstands, removed the wheels, pulled the battery cables, and put a cover over her and set 24 mouse traps around her. I've been up to see her a few times and to clear the traps so far between me and my neighbor going to check the traps, we've caught/killed 38mice. Gotta love the simple snap traps.

But this weekend I decided it was time to start her up and run her for a bit, make sure the oil is cycled through and the transmission is fine and also to see if any mice get blown out of the exhaust.

So pull the air cleaners to make sure no mice have made a nest, I hook up the battery and go to start her. Hmmmmmm very first try and cranks over, ready to go. 5Minutes later she's warmed up. I ran her through the gears for about 5minutes and let her run.I sat there for a few minutes just listening to her idle and listening toher as I revved her up. She was begging for me to put the wheels back on and take her out, but the foot of snow prevents her from even leaving the confines of her garage, plus the salt on the road is a huge deterrence.I'm a huge fan of winter, but I really can't wait to take her out again. Here's to that sweet sound and spring days just 2mos away

I cant wait to get back on the track myself. I really want to get a bike for the track so I don't have to put the Z through that.

sorry to hear about your withdrawl sysptoms...lol..but at least you're putting it to good use.. keeping the rodent population down.. keep up the good work..lol.. oh.. if it makes you feel any better, i work 9 months away from home each year... so i "ONLY" get to drive my Z, 3 months each year. but thats ok too.. my wife (dd), (no pun intended) keeps it well warmed up and road worthy>>(think i am gonna have to get her a new set of sneakers this spring).. but that is the price i pay for playing wth 4200 hp riverboats for 9 months..oh well.. no sympathy needed.. let us know when you get her back out..and back on the track..good luck..and keep the shiny side up..

Thats cool but I think that would be to much power for a first bike. I was thinking about getting a ninja 250 in aug when I turn 18. I have the money just have to convince the rents...

ahhh very smart choice young grasshopper. my first bike was a ninja 500. once i was used to it the bigger bikes had a hard time keeping up with me on the real twisty sections. after I got used to riding and the bike, I don't think I went a day without puttin a peg down! I loved that bike!

NO FLIRTING ladies.

Yeah i started mine up last week, wanted to take it out sooo bad, snow and ice owned me. Some has melted but the side roads are where i live and where the snow and ice have piled up, its like giant speed bumps and deep pot holes everywhere. I couldn't make it to the main roads to even enjoy it.....

Richie, coming from someone like you, someone who has the collective knowledge of toilet plunger, and a shh!!t eating dog, this does not surprise me.Its you, the .01% of the population, that brings us all down.

Being the conserative that I am, I need to remind myself every so often that humans are the only species that save their stupid. Hence we still have Richie

Back on topic.....mezz you're just jealous mike and I have hit off so well. Don't worry you're inline for sloppy seconds

........

I know of another sound that you like that the Z produces......the screeching of the tires when they are breaking traction when you are in a turn

...on a side note. It's hot over here in California, picture perfect blue skies.
