The rich white man is going to be traveling by himself, more than likely, as they have more money at their disposal. The low income people are the ones who commute together more often than not. The executives and myself at my company don't carpool to work while the ones who do pool are generally people at the bottom.

The Arlington County government is on crack, literally or figuratively. A big component of my job involves talking with them and sitting on the other side of the negotiation table from them.
They make the DC government look downright competent. I'm not sure what else I can say.
Arlington County is a VERY affluent area, by and large. It is also incredibly liberal, much more so than Fairfax. It sometimes appears as if it's controlled by the poorest 5% of the population*.
*(i.e. the people I'd like to relocate/buy-out so I can raze their housing and build office buildings where it used to be)

In other news, Arlington County is hearing a case brought by citizens against adding additional HOT lanes in the area. They contend that the lanes would be racist because they would be paved with black asphalt. What is wrong with these sick bastards?
