This is what I'm making for Turkey Day. I feel like I am leaving something out though.

Turkey, Ham w/ peanut butter glaze, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, corn, broccoli salad, cranberry salad, Jello salad, stuffing, dressing, rolls, cherry pie, cheesecake, apple crisp with homemade vanilla ice cream, pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole, fruit salad, and cheesy onions.

suggestions?

Not much for cheese grits. I like mine pretty plain, butter and sugar. That's it.

Driving down to redding, CA. I think my grandpa is going to try BBQ. He just got a massive BBQ/grill. My pumpkin ale is also ready.
Can't, freaking, wait.
What the hell are cheese grits? That sounds like the leftovers of a 2 month old hunk of cheese.

Absolutely not. Mine's made from real cranberries plus other fruits, pecans, two different types of Jello. It's delish. :yum

thats sorta how I make mine

chopped cranberries, orange juice, pecans, walnuts, ground orange zest, and sugar

that can of pre processed jell scares me :ohno:

I never usually have any part in the making of Thanksgiving Dinner. It's a surprise to me - like an extra Hanukah gift!

I think last year, though, my girlfriend and I made Chinese dumplings. Noms.

I usually bring a whole huge procession of appetizers/side items to Thanksgiving, but I'm going to have to slack this year because I've got too much going on.

I might make a mushroom terrine though.

What about drinks? Egg nog? Everything else sounds great (as usual)!

The missus and I are going to grab some breakfast before heading up to CT. But she's still in bed. So I haven't eaten yet.

This is the wrong thread to be reading right now. But it's so beautiful... I can't look away!

I would cancel Thanksgiving dinner before I'd put a can of that glop on our table. Yuck.

Our recipes sound very similar. Mine has pineapple juice instead of orange, add lemon zest, apples, celery, crushed pineapple, cranberry and lemon jello, and no walnuts. Any variation would be acceptable in my book. I like to change things up.
PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:yeah I was thinking appetizers... maybe a cheese and cracker plate?
That sounds like a good idea. Priss and Saraya would probably enjoy putting that together. The fruit salad is going to be primarily an appetizer. Everything can be picked up with tongs or a toothpick. Caramel dip for the apples. With sweet potato casserole, I figured the addition of yams might be too much.
