First post to the forum but I've been stalking you club members for a while for part advice. after a year i manned up and finally did my first couple of bolt on. i went with the K&N Typhoon Intake and borla exhaust. I'M VERY HAPPY so far with the improvements in my sound & slight performance. its all THANKS to the members of this forum. Next up for me is a y-pipe and possible roof overlay...just had one question. Are there any other parts you guys would suggest for performance before I get my car tuned...I want to try and finish performance before I start the cosmetic mods.

I'd say a lowering kit would be the next thing but really it's up to ya.

A couple of people on here swear by lightweight pulleys. Might want to look into that. Not sure if this mod is for MTX only though

Agreed. Borla+Y-pipe+Intake+Pulley then Tune. I'm in your boat as well (OP) performance first then cosmetics :woot:

P.S if you have money, also look into performance tires

Get lowered! you will not scrape with springs! if I could go back springs would be my first mod then Wheels/tires.

has anyone actually installed the lightweight underdrive crank pulley on a 3.5?

I have - I'm not a fan.

For the 1-2 hp you might gain, the risk isn't worth it. If it's not PERFECTLY machined, you run the risk of it wiggling and hogging out the keyway on the crank snout.

When that happens, you need a new crank. When you need a new crank, your car's down for a long time. When your car's down for a long time, you'll be riding the bus. When you ride the bus, homeless drunks sit next to you. When homeless drunks sit next to you, you get barfed on.

Don't get barfed on by a homeless drunk.

Anyway, there's far better (and cheaper) ways to pick up 1-2 hp.

:rotfl Nice reference there Greg.

Crank pulleys do indeed scare me. I think only a handful of folks here have it....
