Last week I posted a problem with my 1990 Q45 and the most fantastic thing happened. I am writing a short story about it because it is remarkable. These two wonderful men showed me that there are some really good people on this planet. In brief, Mike called me and turned me on to NICO. Then he contacted a friend, Jay who lives in my area, who contacted me and worked miracles on my Q45. I will post the story on my site when I return from LA next week. These guys are the greatest. I can never thank Jay & Mike enough.Sam Younghans

I can totally vouche for Goody94Q, he's totally awesome. He helped me out so much when I wasn't sure how to remove the head light assemblies on my Q. Absolutely super guy! He also offers help without being pompous or holier than thou.

Other than figuring that Sam's problems with his Q were pretty simple and calling him, I didn't do much other than steer him to NICO knowing that Jay would see that a neighbor and fellow Q owner needed some help. If you browse Sam's website you'll see that he's proud of his long career in the movie industry and has accomplished a lot in his almost 80 years on the planet. He was in a bit of a bind financially and was trying to sell the Q and keep a beater truck that wasn't running much better.

Jay (3Q Jay) saw Sam's thread and the fact that he lived just a couple of miles away and called him. Jay diagnosed one of the problems by jumpering the fuel pump (burned FPCU) and put in a used pump and FPCU from from his own spares. Sam's mechanic had good intentions but crossed a couple of wires installing a used MAF pigtail and Jay figured it out and repaired it also. In the end, Sam drove away with nice running 90Q and as you can see is very appreciative of Jay's help.

Jay did a very nice deen by helping Sam out. I know he's done it at least a few times before in SoCal and is always eager to meet with other Q owners. Hopefully all of us that are members of this forum would do the same if the opportunity arose.

Thanks for the kudos. I've really enjoyed the last couple of years as a Q owner and NICO contributor. Where were the internet and car forums 30 years ago when I couldn't keep my BMW 2002 running properly? I've met some really nice NICO Q owners locally, have talked to a few more of you on the phone, and sold nice parts to many others. It's been a lot of fun.

So, did anyone tell Sam about the chain guide problem? I sure would hate to see him stranded, and perhaps spot on 3K oile changes haven't been his practice.
