I want to first thank T3 for helping me determine the problem I have been having w/ my Q. The diagnosis is a bad MAF. I have replaced the fuel pump/FPCU, alternator, spark plugs, steady diet of BG44K and I was still getting idle issues and stumbling on the highway.

Yes, I have cleaned the MAF repeatedly and I still get the problem. Does anyone have a working MAF that I can purchase! Please help! I could go on Ebay but I trust you guys first.

The problem with USED MAF is they ALL WILL EVENTUALLY SUFFER THE SAME FATE.

The solder, heat, vibration, and pulling stress on connections cause temperature sensitive INTERMITENTS.

It usually takes 10 years for the wear and tear to show up!

The point is don't assume any other used MAF is any better or will stay good for long.

Resoldering all the 10+ connections can rehabilitate a used MAF for some period of time IF the technican knows how to solder correctly and uses proper 60/40 extreme grade solder with the proper tools.

Cleaning the MAF element is not usually needed unless the car has high miles or prolonged Air Filter change intervals or after market AF. Multiple cleanings in a short period are never indicated. The connectors and the board are much more deserving of attention when problems develop with the MAF.

I have 293K miles on the car and I get regular synthetic oil changes and use only a Nissan air filter.

Me too, however my MAF died at 12 years and about 220,000 miles......age, normal vibration, and heat cycles eventually take their toll on every single MAF out there, why it is foolish to purchase a old used one from another car if you want to solve the problem long term- $450 from joe and you are troublefree of MAF issues for another 10-12 years.
