So NY is sucking lately with all the snow, long story short.... i was driving home and the right front tire caught the icy slush on the side of the road and pulled the entire car into it. I slid right into a 6ft tall snow bank head on and almost rolled the car on its side. A plow guy towed me out of it being he saw it happen.

So i start the car, which starts fine, but the car will not idle on its own....have to keep giving it gas, and its blowing black smoke out the exhaust and it smells terrible.

The FMIC looks okay still (i dont know how lol) didnt see any cracks or leaks.

What are your guys thoughts or ideas on whats going on now after this whole thing?

No theres no snow in the exhaust, everything is still connected. Theres a little snow between the FMIC and the radiator but nothing crazy! And like i said the FM looks fine, and we checked the piping for vaccume leaks and all seemed okay there as well

After that event I would check your plugs. See if water got in there from the melting snow.

Thanks Lobo! I just took out all 4 plugs, and the tips are black, i just put those plugs in 3 weeks ago....so either im running really rich or maybe snow got in there?? IDK.

I also just finished up doing a compression test, the motor was not fully warm. It was warmed up but i shut the car off for probably about 30-40 mins before doing the compression test.

Anyways, the results were..
#1 cyl 125
#2 cyl 125
#3 cyl 130
#4 cyl 130

From researching, those numbers are fairly low for the sr20 motor, but im hoping its because the motor was cooled off a little before the test!!

Any other ideas or thoughts guys??
