So I try to load up my tunage for the way home from work today. I insert cd1, cd2 and nothing. So I try to eject and.....nothing. It says check disc, and cycles between select cd, eject cd and check disc. Anyone have a fix for this? It's still under warranty but I don't want to be without tunes over the weekend.

I'm dissapointed that such an expensive car would come with such a cheap a** head unit. Get with it Infiniti. And from what I read, I'm not the first one with this issue, in fact, far from it.

I assume that none of these disk have paper labels? Have you tried simply pulling the fuse for the sound system and putting it back in. I haven't heard of this problem for the more recent years but for an older one it seemed to have been an issue.

Still since it is under warranty I wouldn't do much to it before taking it into a dealer beyond the idea of powering it down fully.

Actually, the 05-07 coupe and the 05-06 sedan stereo head decks are usually trouble-free. The 03-04 decks have the known issue.

I would try some other CDs if you're not getting an error code. If it still doesn't work, have the dealer replace it.

From what I am reading it almost sounds like the cds he did try are now stuck in the head unit.

I remember reading one post that spoke about powering the unit down completely which seemed to have cured the problem the poster was having which is why I mentioned it here.

Maybe the guy has a large dust bunny in there, but that should not prevent ejection of the disks.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I haven't tried a total power down yet. The cd's don't have labels. Regular TDK cd-r's with mp3's on them. One poster was correct. 3 discs are stuck in there and I can't eject them. Only the radio is usable?

I know its under warranty but I don't expect such a headache from a vehicle like this.

Anyway, here's the plan. I will have the deck replaced by dealer and then I'm buying a double din navi deck. So, anyone interested in a new OEM deck? It will be a good deal

I'm right there with ya man. I have the factory Bose set up and its the biggest pile of Mine will not play CD's without skipping like crazy. I've put brand new CD's in even without driving and it skips. I bought a lense cleaner and nothing...Soooo I bought a Kenwood DDX514 Hope to have it installed within the next couple weeks. I plan to post up some pics once finished.

8 months after I bought mine new in 2005, I had the same problem. They removed the unit under warranty and replaced it. They sent the old unit to Clarion and I got my CD's that were stuck in it back undamaged about 10 days later.

I have never again had any problem with head unit since the new one was put in. I know it is an inconvenience but at least it is covered under warranty. It isn't a bad reflection on the car or Infiniti it is just that sometimes minor things go wrong.
