Just wanted to thank you guys for keeping me from buying another broken from factory vehicle.

I had cash in hand and was looking for a nice V8 vehicle as a replacement for my problematic 1999 i30. First car in mind was a Lexus gs400. The thing was that I could only get old and high mileage cars for my 8-10k budget. I decided against a 1999 high mileage car and started looking to the 2007+ Impala SS models. I had already found one that I was going to buy but fortunately found a forum topic about their massive transmission failures so I decided against that car with actually cash in hand.

I finally decided to get a 2002 q45 then happened to hit some posts about the oil burning. Just wanted to thank you guys for these posts that help potential future victims of bad engine/transmission designs.

I decided on another vehicle that I am happy with. I will not list it as I don't want to cause issues.

I'm glad we could help - although I hate that you won't be posting here with stories about your "new to you" Q.

Hope you'll stick around - Plenty of folks here who don't even own a Nissan product. :)

I still have my i30 that needs LOTS of work.
I'm on my 2nd manual transmission though and it also needs rebuilding. Some bearing going out which causes axle to leak. I'm not repairing it again. I'll just keep refilling the transmission till it dies then donate it. Well, just the transmission, and a had oil leaks which caused my alternator to die. Just replaced that.
