I went with my friend to his Thai-Boxing class and man Iam hooked!! It is so much fun and very very affordable and I feel like I can learn alot. Thai-boxing kicks ***, it seems more useful then karate and other forms of karate, not dissing karate or american freestyle they just seem like more of an 'art'. Tai-Boxing seems you use it more in the streets. I love the grappling aspect of it also, so much fun. Iam so excited about it, I never realized how much outta shape I was till after 1 session, I now LOVE water and love thai-boxing.

Anyone here doing anything like thai-boxing, cadio, karate, etc. etc.Talk about it!

Yeah, Thai kickboxing is brutal and very effective in the street. You can learn it quicker and easier than karate or kung fu, and apply it effectively much sooner. Combine it with Brazilian Ju-jitsu or submission wrestling, and you'll be ready for most weaponless confrontations.

Once I get some more time and money, I plan on starting at the local gym. It's Chuck Lidell's, from the UFC.

Depends on your body type. I'm 5'10" and 140lbs at best. Submission and grappling are NOT my strong points. Cutting, moving and striking are where I'm most effective as I'm small, light, lightning quick and I have long legs.

I do Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, and Tiger claw shaolin. Muay is great for conditioning but it lacks the fluidity of TKD and Tiger Claw. For people my size that could be a real big problem. But if you're big, not much of a problem as you'd have a hard time moving around anyway.

muay thai is deadly ish. just the basic principle of a shin strike will get you out of alot of situations. i'm 6' not limber and gangly so I havn't felt a need to pursue it yet hehe. my friends dad was a general, or the class right below it I believe, in the thai royal army though so if I need someone to teach me I know where to go :D

I measured how far I could run before my arms went numb and I got 3/4 of a mile before my legs gave out. My lungs started weezing at abotu 1/4 of a mile. I felt like an Altima :D

Water is good, ummm kay! The more, the better. All day, all the time... be drinking water. It's like oil for your body. Without out, the body just doesn't run properly.
