I have the base audio system on my 2008 M35. I can't seem to access the "Text" option for CD's. The Text Button is there, but it is greyed out and I can't select it. Anyone know why? I can access it on the Radio setting and have it display information about the song that is being broadcast, how come I can't do the same for a CD?

Thanks

The most likely reason for that is the text format is not supported by your CDs. If there something to display you would be able to see the option there and be able to scroll to the left (using the left arrow) to select it. Since it seems to be working with the other audio choices there isn't a problem, there is just nothing to show.

Thanks Steve, after I got your reply I took a stack of 18 CD's out to the car. With the 6 that were already in there, that was 2 dozen. I swapped them all in and out and the "text" function wouldn't activate for any of them. These were "store bought" CD's, some as recent releases as this past fall. Does it just not display text on CD's? Is it meant for MP3 disks?

Thanks!

Tried that, it won't move to the Text Button. I followed the instructions that are given in the manual with no results.

I know they do show text on MP3 files, I honestly have never put that many disks through the changer to find that out. That's good to know information. Thanks

You drove from GA to buy an M6? lol I would prefer not to say where I work but I do remember that car being here.(I do not know if they would approve of my Nico postwhoring, but it's more than worth it me to risk it)

Nah, at the time I lived in Alexandria as well. I moved to Atlanta two years ago. I bought the coupe in July of 2004. Loved that car, probably the most fun car I ever owned. When I lived in Alexandria it was a "toy", when I moved to Atlanta it became my daily commuter and it just wasn't comfortable making the 90 minute commute each way in and out of the city so I had to get rid of it But now I have my M35 and it has made the commute much less stressful

That's an impressive switch. Reallly though an M6 to an M35. I am personally not a beemer fan so I can understand the swap, but in the beemer world that must be sacreligous.
