Hi y'all.

I'm delighted to say TexasOil has come through again, my 94 Active is now being all it can be. The difference with charged accumulators is amazing, its like driving a different (and smoother) car.

The folks at Glendale Infinity did a good (but expensive) job installing them.

The only downside is that one of the pumps now whines, the volume and speed of the whining being proportional to engine speed and torque (more accelerator, louder whine. Frequency of whine varies by rpm). But I'll get that looked at in a few weeks, if it doesn't disappear as the air bleeds out of the active.

THANKS Keith!

I would definately think that it's air related... hopefully it'll bleed it's way out. Seems like there may be a bleeding procedure in the FSM, but having never owned an active Q, I don't have any experience... maybe someone else will chime in.

There is only one pump so hopefully air is the problem.

By "one of the pumps" I meant that a pump in the engine compartment. Given the proportional to engine speed nature of the whine, I would guess it could be coincidentally a pump not related to the active..... We shall see.

Thanks Though. Martin

Will, then check your drive belts and tensioners. It might be a bad bearing on the alternator, but probably not on AC compressor clutch.

Preventative maintenance does wonders.

is the whine like a drone and prominent along the left frame rail?

if yes, then it is your multivalve wornout.

mine would 'peak' at about 1700 rpm.

warning to all active owners: DON"T drive on flat accumulators. it quikly trashes the rest of the system.

i changed my 9 accums within 100 miles of purchase. still, after 1 year, 9 accums, a refurbed multi valve, multiple flushes, new filter, multiple height adjustments, and front pressure control valve adjustments, my system is a self estimated 98%. still makes barking seal noises o-cassionally when on undulating or rapidly broken pavement.
