Can anyone recommend a shop to convert my '92 'Vert to a 5-speed?

I'm a perfectly competent shadetree mechanic, and *could* do this swap - I just don't want to. Mostly, I don't want the hassle of tracking down the parts, disposing of the old transmission/etc, hassling with making the wiring right, etc. I've finally hit that stage where I'd rather pay someone than hassle with it myself.

I'm DFW, so the closer the better. I'd prefer to deal with someone who's done swaps on convertibles and is familiar with the wiring required to keep the top operational.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

- Dave

Intercrew in garland would do it. http://www.intercrew-racing.com/intropage.html

Or projectnissan, but they're generally more expensive. http://www.projectnissan.com

Good info ^^^^

amarokorg.. You might consider keeping your eye on the classifieds section. I've seen a few "full swaps" for sale recently. A guy name Powerline was selling them as well. The reason I bring this up is that often shops will charge a bit more for parts if they provide those parts. You may save yourself some $$$ by getting a complete swap yourself and just bringing it to the shop.

Thanks for the info - I just dropped Intercrew an email. If I haven't heard from them by after this long holiday weekend, I'll give them a call.

Anyone else?

Thanks!

Nope. I've got a red '92 'Vert... and it was parked in my driveway this morning. Wrong side of town, in any case - I'm in Keller.

Got it. I've seen like 10 240sx verts for the last 10 years in DFW. Not sure if I've seen yours. I know one guy who's specialized in 240s and most 240 guys in DFW know him. Not sure if he still works on 240s, but at least he might be able to tell any good shop. Give me your email. I'll email his name & number.

i did mine at my shop, and dropped in my Ka-t Turbo...didn't take very long, took us a grand total of three days. Day 1 was pulling the motor from both cars. Day 2 was droppin the motor, and doing the pedals. And Day 3 was the tiny wiring voila. But i'm three hours away from Dallas.
