Post

There was a lengthy thread a few weeks ago concerning G50 injectors manufactured by BWD or Standard Auto Products. It appeared that these injectors were compliant with E90 based on verbal comment from an engineer at the manufacturer. There is no information on the BWD website about this issue.

Included in the thread, it appeared that Deatsch had offered to test these injectors to assure they are equivalent to OEM.

A few questions:

Does anyone know more about these injectors and their ability to live with E90?Where can the new version of the BWD injectors be purchased?Has Deatsch started any testing?

It looks like I am starting to have another injector issue due to the gas in GA and hope to find a real solution to this issue.

I’ll be glad to help or to be a test vehicle if needed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry I should have said E10 not E90.

Well, I guess we could buy one and do the TexasOil test.

Seems like they would be right on this pronto if they knew.

I talked to David earlier this week at Deatchwerks to confirm that they would not need the rails to test the injectors. My next step is to find a parts store that is OK with selling 8 of them to me with the understanding that I can return them if I'm not happy with the test results.

I have been really busy lately, and so I'm sort of putting off buying them and starting the testing, because I don't want to actually start installing the injectors in the car several months after the 12mo warranty clock starts ticking. I also need to get in touch with Joe to make sure that the 94-96 rails are available.

If anyone else wants to buy 8 of the BWD injectors and send them off for testing, I will be happy to get you in touch with David for the free test.

Thanks!

Heath

My interest has been piqued. Ethanolable injectors would put me behind the wheel of a Q45 once again.

Why eight, wouldn't one be enough of test?

Statistically you will need to test at least 24-25 random units.

The question is how to simulate accelerated life/operation without actually leaving the fuel mixture circulating for a year.with a Arizona hot solar cycle.

I know that 8 is not ideal, but that happens to be the number I need if I'm going to replace mine with the "phase II" style. I don't have a tremendous amount of optimism that 8 will even make it past the test - given my overall experience with aftermarket parts and David's comments - but I think it's an option that needs to be explored.

In terms of the hot testing cycles, I guess some of this will have to be real world testing...

Mine is sitting also with two bad injectors with no clear path to a solution. Based on my mental state, I feel like I need to go to therapy.

I just hate to pull the plenum, change 1 or 8 injectors to have to do it again soon.
