I am testing the injectors on my 92 Q and for some reason I am unable to get good readings with my DMM from the connector harness. There are three connectors and regardless of what combination I use the readings are wrong. If I pull the reading right off of the injector, it reads ok. I am unable to get a reading for #5 & #7 because I can get to them without removing the plenum. Any suggestions?

One of the conectors is the Knock sensors and ecu coolant sensor.Page EF & EC-142 shows the correct pins

Thanks, but I don't have a service manual yet. I have been looking for a used one. Could someone e-mail me a copy of the pin outs? :help

I did this just a day ago - so I will try to relay back what I observed:

1. There are three Grey color connectors on the driver's engine side (face the car standing in front of the egine - this will be on you left hand side). These eonnectors are not on the power transistor - look a little above the power transistor - it will be below the throttle black cables.

2. one is for the knock sensor and perhaps engine temp sensor as well (not sure). This will have a total of 6 pins inside. This is not what you want if checking the injectors - if checking the knock senors - this will give you the readings.

3. The other two connectors allow you to read the injectors. One will be with 4 pins (only 3 actual wires - with one slot empty - when you look inside you will notice this). The other one will be with 8 pins (for 8 injectors).

4. Take a multimeter and connect one lead to one of the 8 pins in side this connector, connect the other lead of the multi meter to one of the 3 pins on the 4 pin connector. If you do not get a reading, try different pins on the 3 pins inside the 4 pin connector - one of them will give you the reading.

5. This way move from one pin of the 8 pin conenctor to the other - you will also have to try different pin for the other multi meter lead on the 4 pin connector.

If you are already confused: Attach one lead of the multi meter to one of the 8 pins inside the 8 pin conenctor - attach the other multi meter lead to one of the 3 pins inside the 4 pin connector. Only one of the 3 pins will allow you to read the injector value - try all 3 until you get a value.

10-14 ohms is the correct range - anything above and below is questionable.

Expect to be corrected by other gurus if I made a mistake here.

Good Luck
