testing coil packs

What is the best/most efficient way to test the coil packs on my S13 sr20det?

I would pull the coil pack lay it on the valve cover and have someone turn the car over. If you get spark your ignition systems fine. If you want to get technical just enter your respone in the search feature.

start the car. let it warm up.

then unplug coils one by one then check if the idle changes.

if the idle changes then that coil pack is fine.
