You appear to be linking to the page, not the url of the image itself. If you're using Firefox, right click and select Copy Image Location, then paste that into your post. If using IE, right click, select properties, then copy and paste the url from the "location" filed of the properties.

Also, you can make clickable images to link from a smaller version to a larger version, like this ...
