I going pick up my VH from the local yard for $160. I have three Q45s to choose from one had a pretty dented oil pan(no visible holes). I going to do a compression test on the engine when I get it to my garage but then it dawn on me why not test start it.

I figure with the engine out the car and a fuel line to the engine, ecu, harness and 12V power source I can fire it up for a few second(about 30 sec.) Has anybody every started a engine out of the car, if so please give me hand in knowledge.

why not have the yard startup the car before pulling the motor so you dont' waste your time taking a bad motor home ?!

just unscrew the ignition switch from the back of the key lock...turns freely then.
