Im thinking about ordering some test pipes to delete my cats on my 95 n/a. From what I have read my OEM cats have 02 sensors in them and I know i will need them hooked up to avoid a CEL. I havent been able to find any pipes that have 02 ports on them so if i buy pipes with no 02 ports; where should I have the 02 sensors installed? Is it something i could do myself without any real expensive tools?

There are no emissions inspections or anything like that here in Arkansas. About all you'd get for driving down there street with open headers is a noise violation :D

I'm pretty sure the 95 only had the one set of O2 sensors located in the downpipes which any aftermarket should have the bungs for, only the 96 had the second set of O2 sensors after the cats that woudl need to be added to the testpipes, which any decent exhaust shop can do, the bimg is generic and can be welded into any pipe of your choosing

and fwiw, test pipes only add 2=3 whp on an n/a and just nto worth the effort and when you get them your car smells liek gas and leaves soot on your bumper, just not worth it imho

Thanks for the reply evilkdy!

I wasnt expecting a huge power gain; I just wanted to free up the exhaust a little and since my cats have 170k miles on them i was afraid they might go bad soon.

I ended up putting a cat back OEM exhaust i bought off of ebay and just left the cats on it. You were right about the 02 sensors - it only has 2 on the downpipes real close to the manifold

Yep, so to anyone who wants to buy test pipes and wonders about this, there are no 02 sensors on the test pipes/cat pipes.

96 may be different because of the different emission laws that were made mandatory
