a test pipe bolts in place of the cat. todays high flowing 3" cats are not much of a restriction though.

yes, you can put one on your exhaust. but since you live in cali, i'd go with a high flow cat. a test pipe is just a pipe that bolts up to where the cat use to be.

A test pipe is just a straight through pipe that bolts on where the cat converter was. The catalytic converter helps you meet smog regulations. It would not be wise to put a test pipe on your car if you live in Cali.

If you have a OBX cat back already. You need to get a cat with the flanges already welded on..And i would just get one thats the same size as your catback piping..So all the pipings the same size..

i am currently running an hks super dragger 3'' (bought 3 years ago with my sr) with gutted cat on my n/a ka-de (bought another hatch to replace the one that got totaled )and injen intake...its pretty loud wide open and on the highway it can be drowning at 70 mph at 3k rpm but city driving its reasonable below 2500 rpm.
