When I upgrade my exaust system, should I use a 3 inch catalytic converter or a test pipe? Would a cat. be too much of a restriction for the turbo and would the test pipe be louder than the cat?

Comming from a fellow CA guy. Go with a CAT. Quieter, you'll pass CAT inspections, and it keeps the exhaust all nice and shiny!

No, it wont pass emissions in CA. It will pass some states emissions, but that's because they actually test the emsissions. CA has retarded laws, and if it isn't stock, your gonna have a hard time passing it. If it isn't offered in the States, then you better move to AR, OR, or other states that allow you to pass emissions with just a tail pipe test or no test at all.
