I think the Enthusiast Trim is a good value, new its under 27k and has the Xenons, Cruise, and limited slip that the Base lacks..

Used or not I would look for a Enthusiast.

Performance models are rare and add the Tire pressure monitoring nice wheels and TBD..

The public doesnt really give the Performance a price edge on the Enthusiast, so if you find one of those that would likely be a good value as well.

Track models havent been holding teir value all that well either and Their Stock rmbo brakes ($4500 upgrade aftermarket) but those brakes are expensive to maintain..

I ahve the entusiest..best stuff for the money, IMO. LSD, etc no BS like 300lbs worth of climate control and stuff..

Anyways,Use I'd love to get a track model..those are the only 2 Z models worth buying IMO. Track you get better brakes, VDC, etc...weighs a bit more (3400lbs) than mine (3197),...so there's a smallt rade off, but the benifits are nice...oh yeah, and its got the under body diffusers stock.

I thought I heard somewhere that the Track model also has stronger internals, but I'm not sure how well they'd handle FI.

The new 300 hp motors have a bit better internals. The older track models do not have the 300 hp motor. So it depends.

The 03-04 Track does get the Brembo brakes which IMO is worth the extra cash if you can swing it.

Here is my one year review of the 350z.....zerothread?id=94257

Good Luck!

a track would be nice, but a quality brake upgrade for the enthusiast can be had for little $$$$. I think the VDC isn't worth it because you can't really turn it off, its always on. performance models are going close to enthusiast prices if you want some additional creature comforts.

When you say little $$$$, that numper is about $2K+ for parts.

Having the stock Brembos is nice. Many insurance policies will exclude or limit aftermarket upgrades. You have to purchase an endorsement to get around this and they are generally pretty pricey. With the OEM Brembos, at worst, you pay a small bit of extra in premium depending on how the company underwrites their policy and you end up covered for the parts should something go wrong. Plus the factory warrants them as well.
