Post

hi all together...

today had the tiida test drive with premium (sl) at 4 (cvt not available)....

2 questions:

is it only my impression, or the counstruction of the front seat force you to sit like with a hole in the back if you want to lay back your head and shoulders???

2nd::

is it normal, that the break pedal is very hard and needs a lot of pressure not to let the car move at the red signal??

maybe sometihng was wrong with the test car...

the odometer and speedometer also did not function, the rpm gauge and the gasoline gauge yes.... abs light was in yellow all the time..

best wishes

I have not experienced any of what you're describing.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I've experienced problems with the design of seat. It seems like the back could use a little more lumbar support. After driving on a long road trip, my back became very sore because you're constantly in a slight hunchback position. In order to get my head against the head rest, I need to arch my back slightly. I don't really feel any problems when doing short trips around town.

I have not noticed any issue with lumbar support but I sit quite reclined compared to most people.

The brake pedal on mine does not require any more than normal pressure. I am quite pleased with the braking on this vehicle (although others have reported fishtailing during panic stops).

proxim2020 thats exactly what i mean...

on the short city trip i also had no problem, but to put the head on the headrest i had to back my shoulders a lot...

more news after testdrive:

the offered price for premium automatic was 191,500 pesos /17,400 dollars, thats exactly msrp in mexico..

0 discounts on demos as well...

all together 2 things which do not convince me, so i have 2 options...

as my wife likes the frontier a lot

i can stay with it about 1,5 years more and then buy a hybrid in US (somethings i was planning anyway)...

or

wait about 5-7 month until prices of tiida might be lower (really im keen on not purchasing totally new, like up to 15.000 kms and one preowner)....

what do you suggest??

best wishes

I've been driving my new tiida for the past week. I also felt a bit uneasy with the front seat. Now I sit a bit reclined and high. I feel comfortable now

In about 800,000 miles of driving I've never used the head restraint as a head rest. And if you're reclining, as well, it seems like you'd have your head at quite an angle to your body to see out the windshield!

The NHTSA says that for restraints such as those in the Versa, the top should be even with the area between the top of your ears and the top of your head, and the front should be within 2.5" of the back of your head. I suppose touching your head does qualify as "within", though!
