i recently fixed my pathfinder [ been in an accident , i hit a parked rav 4 at about 30mph on the front right of my vehicle.]i had to replace the lower control arm , wheel rim ',spindle, strut ,crossmember ,ball joint . i took it to an alignment shop and they told me that everything is where it should be [ they alligned it perfectly ] and to replace a outer tie rod . i drive the vehicle and i dont have any issues until i get to 50mph and higher , the whole vehicle starts to shake and the steering wheel too. after about 200 miles of highway driving i noticed that the front left wheel lug nuts got very loose [ i made sure those were tight before i started the drive ] so i pulled over and tightened them all , i also decided to check all of the lug nuts on all sides[ they were ok]this got me suprised because the accident happened on the front right side of the vehicle. i feel a vibration under my feet [drivers side]i have no idea what could be causing this.

i have not replaced my rack & pinion or my cv half shaft or the outer tie rods.is the outer tie rods capable of so much vibration?i have no idea what could be causing this vibration, what to replace first ?what to look at ? post some suggestions or solutions because my savings is getting kinda low and i cant afford to replace everything

Sounds like the Death Sway to me. It's a common problem and there's probably about 20 threads on this topic. Check the link below.

I have the same thing. If you're already sure that your wheel balance is okay, try having someone check out whether your driveshaft is off balance. I took mine to the dealer and they pulled the driveshaft off and rotated it 180 and the problem was still there, but it changed. They said get the driveshaft rebalanced and if that's not the problem then it may have something to do with the transfer case.

i replaced the outer tie rods[both sides] today and it made quite a diffrence, the steering wheel shakes after 65mph and the vibration is now alot less.tommorow im gonna change the lower ball joint for the drivers side and check the cv boot of the passenger side [ the ball joint part left side that has not been that good] ima also check the lower control arm in the driver's sidethen im gonna take it to the mechanic if this fails

If your car front end parts such as ball joints or tie rods will become loose, this will create vibration that will be transferred up to your car steering wheel making the car steering wheel vibration become noticeable at a certain speed.

And believe it or not, if you drove for a while on your tires while it was out of alignment your tires could be worn unevenly. That was my issue around 65. New tires and now no shaking at all in the steering wheel.

well as it turns out , i fixed the problem.had a few issues 1. the tires that i bought used looked ok but they were bad so i replaced the tires with brand new ones [ last time i ever buy used instead of new]2. i replaced the front left lower ball joint [ made a bit of a difference] . the steering wheel was way off .3. at the same location that i bought my tires they did a free wheel balance with the road simulation [ got a free re balancing] [ not too sure of the correct name of the simulation test].4. had to get an alignment all over again

after all this the car had perfect steering [ had to replace a bunch of things though ]if i would have gotten better tires in the first place maybe the car would have driven better and i wouldnt be forced to replace everything at once

yup even if the tires look fine, if the belts are separating inside then they will make the same effect as a vebt rim. its happened to me before with cheap taiwanese tires that still looked great.

Not to mess anything up. I have just recently gotten into the same exact accident. However i didnt realized the crossmember was bent until after i attempted to replace the control arm, axle, and pretty much every piece of the suspension. My question is how did you manage to replace the crossmember. Did you have to take the engine out or were you able to do this differently.
