So i have seen these floating around the forums, wondering what kind of quality these wheels are. I was originally looking at SSR VF1's, but i knew those would take a few months to save for haha, but these wheels are 1/3 the cost and i like them just as much, so the only question now is quality??

I think I may have worded my question poorly.

I know SSR's are much higher quality, my question was more, are tenzo's AWFUL?? Will I really notice a difference in the quality of the rim? Do the tenzo's fall apart after xxxx miles?? Do they ride different?

Also, what is the benefit of the 3pc rim as opposed to the 1pc rim? I know 3pc is considered 'better' and is assembled from 3 pieces (duh! lol) but what makes them different when all is said and done?

Hi, saw this post and really felt the need to chime in.

I am not here to sell anything, but I read a lot of posts about how Tenzo is crap, and how all these other wheel companies like Axis, MRR, and even R1 is better. Bottom line is that a lot of these wheels are made in the same factory, and there is not a whole lot of difference when it comes to quality of a pressure cast wheel. Ultimately, it just depends on whether you like the style wheel, and how well the company does their marketing. There are slight differences in quality such as the paint finish, and craftsman ship such as details in the design, but other than that, none of these wheels is going to fall apart significantly easier than the other. Keep in mind that the many of the factories that make these wheels also makes your oem wheels. I don't think Nissan is going to put a wheel on your car that is going to fall apart.

As far as 3 piece wheels, you actually have more of a chance that a 3 piece wheel is going to fall apart than a cast wheel like Tenzo. The guy doing the assembly of a 3 piece GFG wheel could be tired that day, and not torque all the bolts to spec for instance. You drive down the road, and bolts could start falling out.

The big advantage of having a 3 piece wheel is the flexibility of different fitments, and a slight reduction in weight. Thats about it. You also get the nice clean cuts on a forged wheel that you can't get with cast.

If you want a super light wheel, you should go with 1 piece forged wheel like Volk.
